About Me

About Me

My name is Elizabeth Hepler and I’ve been a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist since 2005.  I am the mother of four great kids. Our household is neurodiverse: ADHD, Autism, Gifted, and more!

I have learned more from being a Mom than I have in any other experience. I hope sharing my experiences from both sides of the table (both as an SLP and as a mom) will be helpful for all who read and watch.

As a Mom, I struggled to find resources to help my kiddos…and me.  I often searched the internet, looked to other parents and therapists for help, and still felt like I often couldn’t find what we needed.

One of my favorite parts of being a mom and an SLP is seeing a child make progress…big or small.  I am proud to celebrate every single victory each of my children and students make.  My ultimate goal for each of my children (and students) is for them to meet their potential, no matter what that potential may be. More importantly, I want each of them to be happy- by their own definition.

My goal is to share some tips and ideas I have learned over the years in working with my students and my own kids.  I will do my best to put as much information to help you and your child in one place so that you can find it…here on this website.

My Education and Experience

I have a masters degree in Communication Disorders and additional education and training in Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing, Pragmatic Language, and Developmental Delays. I am a TEACCH® Certified Practitioner using a strength-based approach to increasing functional communication. I am trained in Gestalt Language Development and Natural Language Acquisition.

I’ve been a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) since 2005.  I’ve worked in a variety of settings, but most of my experience has been working with young children in preschool and clinical settings.

My hope is that you will find some helpful information on this site and that you might share this blog with other parents, therapists, and professionals that would find this information helpful as well.

Privacy

Please be mindful that I do use my own children in photos and videos as they have a unique perspective and have consented to take part in whatever we are sharing.  For more information on the privacy policy of this website, you can visit the Privacy Policy page found at the bottom of the home page.

Thank you,

Elizabeth Hepler, MA/CCC-SLP
